De Plukker

De Plukker brewery is an independant craft brewery based in Poperinge, the only hop producing region in Belgium. About 25 hop farms total an estimated 160 hectares, earning Poperinge the title of "Hop Capital" of Belgium.

Our brewery stands out because we are based on one of these hop farms. We are not a brewery with a little hopfield on the side, we are a hop farm with a brewery beside the field! Only our own hops are used to brew our beers.

All hops grown on the hopfarm are certified organic and in the brewery we only brew organic beers. De Plukker stands for 100% organic and 100% hops from the own farm. Cheers!

A "plukker" is a person employed to pick hops.

ROODKOP

PLUK-ROOD-75
Weight: kg

Rookop is a brown, top-fermented ale in which 2 varieties of hops are used. It has coffee in the flavor. Rookop used to be brewed in the St-Joris brewery in Reningelst, Belgium until 1963 when the brewing activities stopped. The brewery was restored back to its original condition in 2012 and now functions as a meeting centre for families with children. We were asked to bring this famous beer back to life. Since the original recepy could not be recovered, a brand new beer was developed.

Unfiltered and unpasteurized, refermented in the bottle.
Store upright in a cool and dark place.

Available in bottles of 75cl

Style: dubbel
Alc.: 6,5 Vol.%
EBU: 25

PLUKKER SINGLE GREEN HOP

PLUK-GREEN-75
Weight: kg

Once a year, during the picking of the hops, we can brew a beer with green hops. This means that the freshly harvested hops are not dried but immediately used for brewing. As fresh as it gets! This beer has a characteristic fresh taste because the hops used contain many of the oils that are normally lost when hops are dried.

Single hop means that just one hop is used for flavor and aroma.

Our Single Green Hop 2012 is a collaboration brew with Brewery the Alternative from Izegem, Belgium. This limited edition is bottled on 582 bottles and the hop variety is Golding.

Unfiltered and unpasteurized, refermented in the bottle.
Store upright in a cool and dark place.

Available in bottles of 75cl.

Color: amber
Alc.: 5,8 Vol.%
